SPRINGTIME
We were warmly welcomed at  Oz Care Day Respite Burleigh which came alive with spring flowers  gladdening the hearts of all in attendance who recalled what spring meant to them.
The flowers are blooming along with the trees
And the sweet smell of blossoms are blown in the breeze.
Be happy my friends and sing with great cheer
Let all hearts be thankful
For Springtime is here.

BIRTHDAYS CELEBRATED

We do not forget our canine helpers when their birthday comes along and we feel privileged to add our best wishes, love and a little gift This month the residents, staff and doggies at the Lodge Domain all joined in to wish Baron (white Swiss Shepherd) a happy 5th birthday as he opened his birthday parcel and the joy we all experienced as he showed us his new toy.

Zak also celebrated his 10th birthday with Baron. Zak is much loved by the residents we visit, he has been volunteering with his Mother and Grandmother since he was three years old handing out gifts at Christmas time and entertaining with his skills in Tai-Kwondo.

Well done Paula, Marguerite, Zak and Baron , an inspiration!!

Our sincere appreciation Rosemary.

 SPECIAL VISIT

To Bavia House, the blind and visually impaired were delighted to have a visit from Frank and Sunny boy back after rehabilitation (yes it happens to doggies too) Jeannette and Pappy (Papillion), Misty, Lilla, Tony and Bruce (Shih Tzu).

PFT volunteers come from all walks of life and amazing volunteer is Tony, after a car accident left him a paraplegic and in a wheelchair. Tony always smiling with his little dog Bruce and carer Lilla certainly promote joy laughter and love. PFT volunteers enhanced humanity to all those they visit and interact with.

Well done PFT.

Volunteers Sue and Kobi, Paula, Marguerite, Stew & Baron, David with Bear, Boston and the pups. What a hit David’s Saint Bernard’s were with the children. We thank you and your lovely family for your time and travelling so far on the day. Thanks also to Kobi and Baron for their resilience – little Kobi exhausted feel asleep on his mum’s shoulder. Your time very much appreciated Thanks guys.

 Special Thanks
Go to Paula for her excellent tuition, helping our four legged friends through behaviour problems. Feedback receive from a greatful owner, shadow is responding so well to your methods. And we have seen a BIG difference when the neighbour is mowing, now instead of barking, she sits at the gates just watching which is amazing. She has now stopped pulling on the lead I have been doing the standstill methods and she is getting it.
Thank you so much for helping us with Shadow … Cheers, Fiona

Hugs
It’s wondrous what a hug can do,
A hug can cheer you when you’re blue.
A hug can say I love you so or gee I hate to see you go,
A hug is welcome back again,
And great to see you or where have you been,
A hug can soothe a small child’s pain,
And bring a rainbow after rain.

The hug! There’s just no doubt about it,
We scarcely could survive without it,
A hug delights and warms and charms,
It must be why God gave us arms.
Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, as well for brothers,
And chances are some favorite aunts,
Love them more than potted plants.
Kittens crave them, puppies love them,
Heads of state are not above them,
A hug can break the language barrier,
And make the dullest day seem merrier.
No need to fret about the store of them,
The more you give, the more there are of them.
So stretch your arms without delay,
AND GIVE SOMEONE A HUG TODAY.

 Sunny Boy
Our little redhead  recuperating from an injury has been a brave little man and proven what a great asset crate training can be for relaxation and healing time.
