SPRINGTIME
We were warmly welcomed at  Oz Care Day Respite Burleigh which came alive with spring flowers  gladdening the hearts of all in attendance who recalled what spring meant to them.
The flowers are blooming along with the trees
And the sweet smell of blossoms are blown in the breeze.
Be happy my friends and sing with great cheer
Let all hearts be thankful
For Springtime is here.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

Pets For Therapy have been honoured to be recipients of this prestigious award .

On the 30th November 1981 the UN declared : that the 3rd Tuesday of September  – to coincide with the opening day of the general assembly – would be officially dedicated and observed as the annual international day of peace , and be commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples….

Each year the volunteers of Angels Kitchen Southport promote this special day .Angels Kitchen is a community outreach facility run by volunteers who give their time freely to provide a home cooked sit down meal to needy people.

We witnessed the Ceremony of Peace ,lighting a candle for the world’s seven continents – Asia – Europe – Africa – South America – North America – Antarctica

BIRTHDAYS CELEBRATED

We do not forget our canine helpers when their birthday comes along and we feel privileged to add our best wishes, love and a little gift This month the residents, staff and doggies at the Lodge Domain all joined in to wish Baron (white Swiss Shepherd) a happy 5th birthday as he opened his birthday parcel and the joy we all experienced as he showed us his new toy.

Zak also celebrated his 10th birthday with Baron. Zak is much loved by the residents we visit, he has been volunteering with his Mother and Grandmother since he was three years old handing out gifts at Christmas time and entertaining with his skills in Tai-Kwondo.

Well done Paula, Marguerite, Zak and Baron , an inspiration!!

Long time supporters and sponsors of PFT have kindly and generously provided $500.00 for wonderful posters to distribute throughout the Gold Coast to help promote PFT and the achievements over 24 years of community service by volunteers to enrich the lives of others.
Our sincere appreciation Rosemary.

 SPECIAL VISIT

To Bavia House, the blind and visually impaired were delighted to have a visit from Frank and Sunny boy back after rehabilitation (yes it happens to doggies too) Jeannette and Pappy (Papillion), Misty, Lilla, Tony and Bruce (Shih Tzu).

PFT volunteers come from all walks of life and amazing volunteer is Tony, after a car accident left him a paraplegic and in a wheelchair. Tony always smiling with his little dog Bruce and carer Lilla certainly promote joy laughter and love. PFT volunteers enhanced humanity to all those they visit and interact with.

Well done PFT.
